How To Use Filters
You can use Filters on functions in Eagle such as Pages, Reports and Actions which are set up on the Function Setup page. Filters are used to control which records are included in a selected function and it enables you to display records for specific items, entries and dates by specifying filter criteria. Only records that match the criteria are displayed on the page or included in the report, or action. If you specify criteria for multiple fields, then only records that match all criteria will be displayed.
Note
The limitations of Filters on actions and reports in Eagle is that it is not possible to set date filters that are relative to the current work date or the current date. If you, for example, specifies a date filter using T (as for Today) the filter will automatically be translated and saved with the current date. It will be the same if you enter M for the month, as soon as you leave the field, the date for the period will be filled in and the function will be saved with a date filter for the month that is current at the time the filter is specified.
The solution to this limitation is to use Date Filters to filter on specific dates that are relative to the current date using date formulas.
Tip
It is possible to set date filters as Filters for Actions and Reports in Eagle but we recommend that you always use Date Filters for all types of functions in Eagle when filtering by date, due to the above limitation.
Apply Filters on Pages
- Choose a record of the type Page on the Function Setup page.
- Select the Filters action.
- Select the Assist Edit button in the Field No. field to see all available fields.
- Choose a field and then select OK.
- Specify a filter for the selected record in the Filter field.
- Continue to add the fields and filters as needed.
Note
There may be some restrictions on setting filters. For example, it is not possible to filter out option values with <>. Once you have set up a filter, select the Check Filters action to open the page and check that the filters are applied as intended. The page will be opened in the current company.
Open Pages
- Choose one or several companies on the My Companies page.
- Select the Select page action.
- Choose one or several pages, with or without filters on the Function List page.
- The selected pages will be opened on new tabs in your browser for each selected page and company.
Tip
In addition to saving filters in Eagle, you can also save views in the client companies using the standard functionality in Business Central. Read more at Microsoft Learn about filtering and saving views.
Apply Filters on Reports
- Choose a record of the type Report on the Function Setup page.
- Select the Filters action.

Note
The only option to view a report with saved filters is to select the Enqueue Report action.

- Select the Enqueue Report action.
- Choose one or several reports, with or without filters on the Function List page.
- The selected reports for the selected companies will be enqueued and the progress can be monitored on the Queue Entries page.
Note
If the queued report is not completed successfully but ends with an error, it may be because the Filters that has been set does not contain a filter on an object which is mandatory for the report. See the workflow for enqueued functions on how to troubleshoot.
Save the Results
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Queue Entries or Queue Batches and then choose the related link.
- Select one or several records and then the Download Result action to save the result of the selected records to your device.
- It is also possible to select the Save to OneDrive action to copy the file to your Business Central folder in OneDrive and open it in a new window so you can manage or share the files.
- You can also save the results to SharePoint Online by following the How To Use Queue Result Settings steps.
