Eagle
About this app
Eagle supports users in everyday life, at financial statements and audits. The functionality in Eagle can be used if you administer one or multiple companies.
Eagle is a very versatile app that lets you manage work more efficiently for one company or across multiple companies because Eagle both streamlines and increases the base functionality in Business Central.
Let Eagle make it easier and more efficient to:
- Perform financial statements
- Provide accounting records
- Distribute reports
- Process invoices and payments
- Review and analyze data
- Schedule with dynamic filters
Note
Eagle can be used to perform operational tasks for multiple companies within the same tenant and/or between different tenants, which is why it is suitable for shared service centers and accounting firms.
Eagle can also be used by individual companies that want to manage operations tasks easier and more efficient.
Select the Company Type on the Eagle Setup page depending on whether you are a Service Agency, Client or a Single Company.
Financial Statements
When you use Eagle for your monthly financial statement, you can reuse all reports from the previous financial statement. All reports, table exports and KPIs can be set up with dynamic date filters, allowing them to be used period after period. So instead of spending time on each financial statement specifying different filters for your most important reports, you only set them up once and save a lot of time.
Tip
Select the New from Template action on the Function Setup page and then select the Financial Statements Group to easily set up pre-configured reports and table exports to get started with monthly financial statements in Eagle, whether for one or multiple companies.
Accounting Records
You can export all material that your accountant or auditor requests. It is possible to export all attachments and incoming documents such as vendor invoices. You can export G/L entries in the format you specify, for example Excel or SIE. You can also export multiple sales invoices at the same time and do much else that an accountant/auditor can ask for.
Tip
Select the New from Template action on the Function Setup page and then select the Audit Group to easily set up pre-configured reports to get started with extracting accounting records with Eagle, whether for one or multiple companies.
Distribute Reports
The results of requested functions are saved in a log in Eagle. From the log, it is possible to download the result on your device or export it to e.g. SharePoint.
The file name and the path are configurable, and it is possible to specify dynamic placeholders and to select whether folders should be created automatically.
Tip
Read more in How To Use Queue Result Settings and learn how to set up and get started distributing the results of requested functions. This can be very useful for providing colleagues with financial statements and auditors with accounting records.
Tip
If you use Spider, it is possible to use all Communication Methods available in the app which can be used for both import and export. Allowing users to, for example, import accounting files, but also, if the SweBase app is installed, import SIE files and reconciliation files via Spider. Read more about Processing SweBase File Imports with Spider.
Invoices and Payments
From an aggregated view, you can get an overview of all the invoices and payments in their different statuses. For example, you can see how many invoices are not yet approved or when the last payment file was sent. There are a number of predefined KPIs and you can create your own key performance indicators to track exactly what you want.
If you have SweBase or Continia Payment Management, you can manage payments across multiple companies. If you have ExFlow or Conitina Document Capture, you can keep track of all the invoices across multiple companies.
Tip
Find more information about which reports you can use across multiple companies if you use ExFlow or SweBase.
Review and analyze data
The Table Export function allows users to export data from tables in Business Central in a format specified by the user, such as Excel or tab delimited.
The table export can be used when balance accounts should be reconciled and analyzed as part of the monthly closing or if you want to export G/L entries in a format other than SIE such as Excel.
Other areas of use are troubleshooting, master data maintenance and exporting data to another system.
If you have several companies, you can advantageously choose that the results should be combined to export an aggregated file for all companies.
Tip
Use Eagle KPIs to specify your own key performance indicators and get an Eagle Eye on the company or companies.
Tip
Select the New from Template action on the Function Setup page and then select the Audit Group to easily set up pre-configured table exports to get started with exporting data, whether for one or multiple companies.
Schedule Functions
Once you get started with Eagle, it is possible to schedule all functions with dynamic date filters, allowing them to be used period after period. So instead of spending time on manually enqueueing functions, you only schedule them once and save a lot of time.
Tip
If you have several companies, you can set a dynamic filter for which companies are to be covered by the scheduling, for example, you can set that a function should only be processed if a certain Eagle KPI meets specific criteria.
Eagle Across Multiple Companies
Eagle allows service providers such as service centers, service agencies and accounting firms to work centrally and manage all their service recipients from one view.
Eagle helps you in the process of streamlining the administration when you perform the same operational tasks in many companies. The Eagle app is installed in both the tenant belonging to the Service Agency (provider of administrational services) and the tenant belonging to the Client Company (recipient of administrational services).
Tip
