User Guide
Eagle is an app that streamlines administration when you need to perform the same operational tasks in many companies. The app is installed in both the tenant belonging to the service agency (provider of administrational services) and the one belonging to the client (recipient of administrational services).
Note
A service agency can, for example, be a shared service center within the group or an accounting firm that provides administrative services to its clients.
Important
The processes in Eagle is best explained with workflows. Start by going through the Main workflows along with the Functions in Other Apps. More details are found in How To.
Perform Operational Tasks
All operational tasks in Eagle can be accessed on the My companies page, in the service agency's installation of Eagle.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter My Companies, and then choose the related link.
Tip
We recommend that you use the Eagle Role Center as it allows you to have access to everything in Eagle, directly from you home page.
Note
The My Companies page lists the companies (which has not been actively hidden) which the user has the permissions to, in the environments that have been set up on the My Environments page.
Tip
You can select to reload all your companies and data, such as KPIs, by scheduling a job queue that runs the update in the background at a time of your choice. A notification on the My Companies page will help you to do so.
Tip
Use the Client Code field to specify a unique identifier for each client company. If one or more client codes has been specified, the Code field will be displayed on the My Companies page automatically.
Process Payments
It's possible to create a payment suggestion in two ways. You can either use the Payment Suggestion action or the Enqueue Action on the My Companies page.
The workflow for how to proceed with the steps are illustrated and described in Process Payments.
Open Client Pages
It's possible to open pages that are available in the service agency's and the client company's installation of Business Central. If you select the Open actions, the chosen page will appear on a new tab in your browser for each selected company where the report is opened in the selected company. You can set up the page on the Functions Setup page if you want to be able to open it with set filters.
Page | Description |
---|---|
Customers | Open the Customer List without filters on a new tab for each selected company. |

Tip
We recommend that you set up pages on the Function Setup page with filters.

If you select the Open actions, the chosen report will appear on a new tab in your browser for each selected company. You can set up the report on the Functions Setup page if you want to be able to enqueue it with set filters.

It's possible to Enqueue reports that are available in the service agency and the client company's installation of Business Central.
A user can Enqueue any report that is possible to process by a job queue. The report can be based on standard Business Central (Base Application) or based on other extensions or apps.
It can be processing-only reports for calculating depreciation, adjusting exchange rates, creating job invoices or batch posting of invoices. Or regular PDF/Excel reports such as income statements and balance sheets or pages such as chart of accounts, customers and vendors. The Output Type field on the Function Setup page enables users to specify whether the result of an enqueued report should be Excel or PDF.
Tip
It is possible to re-enqueue multiple reports simultaneously. This is useful, for example, when errors have occurred in several reports, you have made an update with the errors corrected, and want to request all the reports again at the same time.
The workflow for how to enqueue reports are illustrated and described in Enqueue Actions and Reports.
Tip
Visit How To Set Up Functions for Apps to find examples of reports to set up and enqueue.

It's possible to Enqueue data export from tables that are available in the service agency and the client company's installation of Business Central.
The table export enables users to export data from tables in the format specified by the user on the File Settings page.
The workflow for how to enqueue table exports are illustrated and described in Enqueue Actions and Reports.
Note
The table export is useful for troubleshooting, migrating data and to export data to other systems on a recurring basis.
