Squirrel automates lot/batch number allocation for sales orders and transfer orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This app streamlines warehouse picking operations by automatically assigning specific lot numbers to outbound orders based on configurable selection methods and allocation strategies.
Automatic Lot Allocation
Automatically assigns lot numbers to sales and transfer order lines based on available inventory, item tracking code settings, and location-level allocation methods. The app processes outstanding quantities that have not yet been allocated, ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
Multiple Allocation Strategies
Supports various allocation methods to match your business needs:
- Per order Increasing Qty. - Allocates lines within each order starting with smallest quantities first
- Per order Decreasing Qty. - Allocates lines within each order starting with largest quantities first
- Increasing Quantity - Allocates all lines across orders starting with smallest quantities first
- Decreasing Quantity - Allocates all lines across orders starting with largest quantities first
Combine these with item-level lot selection methods:
- Oldest Batch - Selects the oldest lot (FIFO) based on posting date
- Smallest Batch - Selects the lot with the smallest available quantity
Allocated Quantity Visibility
Displays allocated quantities directly on sales order lines, providing immediate visibility into which lines have been automatically allocated lot numbers.
Allocation Control Options
Control lot allocation behavior at the location level with settings to enable/disable lot allocation and enforce picking only from allocated lines.
Lot Allocation Entries Management
Provides a dedicated page to review, filter, and manage lot allocation entries, allowing you to identify lines that could not be allocated and require manual attention.
Important
Before using Squirrel, ensure that Item Tracking functionality is enabled in Business Central, items are configured with Item Tracking Codes that support lot/batch tracking, and locations are configured for lot allocation.
