Project Task Lines
Project tasks are used to define the various tasks involved in a project. Every project must have at least one project task and all that is planned or posted refers to a project task.
Project Task Lines on Projects
StoryPoint extends the Project Task Lines on projects, making it possible to view registered, planned and posted time (quantity) that refers to a project task, whether it is a registered line in a Time Sheet, Project Journal, Project Planning Lines, Estimate or if it's posted to the Project Ledger Entries.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Projects, and then choose the related link.
- Open any project from the list and find the Tasks on the Project Card. Hover over a field to read a short description.
Tip
We recommend that you Personalize the fields on the Project Task Lines Subform so that the most useful fields for you are displayed and in the order you choose.
Project Task Lines on Home Page
Tip
We recommend the StoryPoint role Project Manager for users who approve time or are responsible for projects and wants easy access to the most common tasks, lists and reports. The Project Manager role also includes time charts which can be very useful for time sheet approvers.
With StoryPoint you have access to all Project Tasks (without filter on a specific project) by selecting Project Task Lines on the home page of the Project Manager role, which can be used for analyzing several projects (projects) simultaneously.
Check time before monthly closure
Check that all time has been Submitted
It is possible to check that all time has been Submitted in several ways. This can be done by filtering pages such as Manager Time Sheets, Manager Time Sheet Cockpit and Time Sheet Details, or Time by Periods, to see if your own time has been fully submitted.
Check that all time has been posted
Once the Submitted time for the period has been Approved it can either be Posted automatically or manually, depending on the Type. Registered time of the type Absence will be marked as Posted when it's Approved. Registered time of the type Project is marked as Posted when it's posted in a Project Journal. To check if all time in Time Sheets are posted, you can filter pages such as Time Sheet Lines and Manager Time Sheets or open a Project Journal without any value in Person Responsible Filter and select the Suggest Lines From Time Sheets action, the lines that are created will contain the remaining quantity to be posted. Doing so without any filters will ensure you that there are nothing left to be posted on Projects.
Tip
We recommend that you set up a Project Task as a Total by selecting Total or End-Total in the Project Task Type field on each Project, making it possible to see the sum of all tasks on a Project.
