Getting Started
To be able to start using all functionality within StoryPoint the following needs to be set up:
- Projects
- Human Resources
- Resources
- Expense Management
StoryPoint Setup
The StoryPoint Setup page, is where functionality within StoryPoint are displayed and can be used for both manual and assisted setup.
Find StoryPoint Setup
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter StoryPoint Setup, and then choose the related link.
- Hover over a field to read a short description.
StoryPoint User Setup
The StoryPoint User Setup page, is where functionality within StoryPoint that are possible to set per user are displayed and edited.
Find StoryPoint User Setup
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter StoryPoint User Setup, and then choose the related link.
- Hover over a field to read a short description.
Expense User
The Expense User page is where you set up users who need be able to register expenses.
Find Expense User
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Expense User, and then choose the related link.
- Select the New action and fill in the fields as necessary.
- Hover over a field to read a short description.
Project Expense Code
The Project Expense Code page is where you create Project Expense Codes to connect to the Project tasks. This needs to be done to be able to register an Expense to a Project Task.
Find Project Expense Code
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Project Expense Code, and then choose the related link.
- Select the New action and fill in the fields as necessary.
- Hover over a field to read a short description.
Expense Code
The Expense Code page is where you setup a G/L Account, Description and default amount for your Expense.
Find Expense Code
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Expense Code, and then choose the related link.
- Select the New action and fill in the fields as necessary.
- Hover over a field to read a short description.
Assisted Setup
Set up Time Sheet Usage
The Setup Time Sheet Usage guide, helps you to do the necessary set up to be able to start reporting time. The guide also helps you create number series and units as well as help you do the necessary set up in Resources Setup, Projects Setup and Human Resources Setup.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Assisted Setup, and then choose the related link.
- In the Assisted Setup page, choose Setup Time Sheet Usage
Tip
It is possible to run the guide several times. If you want to keep one of the settings, you can select it in the guide.
Note
It is also possible to start the guide Setup Time Sheet Usage from StoryPoint Setup.
New Time Sheet User
The New Time Sheet User guide will help you to create a resource and an employee using the information from the user.
To be able to report time on a project the user must exist as a resource and in order to report absence the user must exist as an employee. The resource and employee are linked to each other and the resource is linked to the user.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Assisted Setup, and then choose the related link.
- In the Assisted Setup page, choose New Time Sheet User.
Tip
The guide New Time Sheet User can be used every time a user is to be added as a Time Sheet User.

It is also possible to start the guide New Time Sheet User from StoryPoint Setup.

Set up Expense Management
The Expense Usage Guide guide, guides you how thru the necessary set up to be able to start registering Expenses. The guide also helps you create and set up number series as well as guide you how to set up Expense Codes And Project Expense Codes before connecting them to a Project Task.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Assisted Setup, and then choose the related link.
- In the Assisted Setup page, choose Expense Usage Guide
Tip
It is possible to run the guide several times. If you want to keep one of the settings, you can select it in the guide.

New Expense User
The New Expense User Guide guide will help you to set up an Expense User, this needs to be done to able to register an Expense.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Assisted Setup, and then choose the related link.
- In the Assisted Setup page, choose New Expense User Guide.

The guide New Expense User Guide can be used every time a user is to be added as a Time Sheet User.
