How To Set Up Import SIE (SweBase)
SIE (Import/Export) is a standardized file format used in Sweden for importing and exporting accounting data between different software systems and the functionality is available in SweBase.
The advantage of setting up SIE Import (SweBase) in Spider is that it enables the user to leverage the Communication Methods available within Spider, such as S/Ftp, Ftp, Azure File Storage, Azure Blob Storage and SharePoint Online.
Important
To be able to import and process the SIE files in Spider it is required that the settings in SweBase such as setting up a SIE import code on the page SIE Import List with the mandatory fields has been done. This documentation provides steps to do this if it has not been done before.
Tip
If the Eagle app is installed it is possible to import and process the files across multiple companies. See the workflow for Processing SweBase File Imports with Eagle and Spider.
Step 1: Create Integration
Note
The following steps focus on the settings that are mandatory.
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Integrations, and then choose the related link.
- On the General FastTab:
- Select New.
- Enter a Code.
- Select Import SIE (SweBase) in the Integration Type field.
- On the Communication FastTab:
- Select an existing Communication Method.
- Enable the Include in Import field, which allows the files to be imported into the Integration Queue without having to manually select them.
Step 2: Add Additional Settings
- Select the Additional Settings action and select the SIE Import Code that has been set up in SweBase.
Note
The SIE Import Code is used to define the settings for the file to be imported and is a feature in the SweBase app. Please visit the SweBase documentation for more information on how to set up the SIE Import Code on the SIE Import List page.
Step 3: Set Up SIE Import Code in SweBase
- Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter SIE Import List and then choose the related link.
- Select New.
- Enter a Code.
- Select the SIE Type.
- Type 4 is the most common type and contains all voucher entries for the fiscal year.
- Select which Gen. Journal Template and Gen. Journal Batch to use for the import.
- All other fields are optional and can be filled in as needed.
Tip
It is possible to map the G/L accounts and dimensions in the SIE file to other accounts and dimensions in Business Central by setting up the Remap G/L Accounts and Remap Dimensions FastTabs on the SIE Import List page.
