Frequently Asked Questions
How can I handle Advance Invoicing
If I have the need to invoice my customers in advance but still want the invoice to be posted today then the following needs to be done:
Example
- Today is for example December 16th 2021.
- I want to invoice my customer in advance for the period January 1st - March 31st 2022.
Setup
- Set Get Posting Date From on Contract Setup to Work Date.
- Set Invoicing Interval on the Contract to 3M.
- With the Get Posting Date From set to Work Date posting date will be today.
Note
The Next Posting Date field on the Contract will be used to calculate prices in the Price list even though Get Posting Date is set to Work Date.
Tip
If you want to split the revenue over three periods you need to use a Deferral Code on the contract line. Set the Start Date on the deferral template to Posting Date as the starting period of the deferral will be calculated from the Next Posting Date on the Contract.
How can I see which documents are created from the contract
