How To Set Up Functions for Apps

A user can set up a variety of functions based on standard Business Central (Base Application). It can be processing-only reports for calculating depreciation, adjusting exchange rates, creating job invoices or batch posting of invoices. Or regular PDF/Excel reports such as income statements and balance sheets or pages such as chart of accounts, customers and vendors.

It is also possible to set up functions based on the extensions or apps installed in both the Service Agency and the Client Company. Functions can be set up with filters and date filters. With the Use Template action on the Function Setup page, you can easily add functions by following a guide (wizard) with pre-configured templates.

Below are a number of tables with suggested reports to set up on the Functions Setup page for different apps.

    Tip

We recommend setting up the same function multiple times with different names, filters and date filters. For example, "Income Statement Last Year", "Income Statement Last Month", etc. By setting different filters and date filters, you can order reports without having to enter manual filters, which will save time and make the use of Eagle more efficient.

    Tip

You can create group codes and add to your functions on the Function Setup page. When you Enqueue Reports or Enqueue Table Data, you can choose to select one or more groups at the same time. All functions that are added to the group will be enqueued.

    Tip

Use the Schedule action when you want to request a function through the Job Queue. You have the option to schedule individual functions or entire function groups. Schedules can be set on the Function Page, Function Group Page, and on the Function Category Page.

For example: Retrieve all your monthly financial reports on a specific day each month for all companies or ONE specific company.

    Note

Select for example Date Calculation Type = Date Range and Date Code = CM-01M to apply a date filter on the previous month.
